Awarded Solo Exhibition
I was inspired to start this project by my desire to participate in the 2000 Photosynkyria Exhibition at the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, which had the theme WATCH ME (WATCH YOU).
The project was presented as a solo exhibition, curated by Kostis Antoniadis, and received an honorable mention for outstanding participation.
During my first pregnancy, I could not fully comprehend that a human being was forming inside of me. From the beginning, I began photographing my “blooming” belly and its relation to its surroundings. I often wondered what my child would see if my womb were transparent. In a playful manner, I shot photos of my belly, and then of my belly looking at the world. It was a very creative and enjoyable period.
I also took pictures during the birth itself, which allowed me to experience that moment in a very creative way and helped me cope with the pains.
